Books play a major roll in Lisa's work. She mostly reshapes the books or alters them to make into totally different things. She makes paper mache balls out of the pages, shreds the pages and even sews the pages inside and outside of the book cover. Bits of the text remain but the main meaning and body of the book is gone.

She was awarded her BFA and her MFA from the California College of the arts.
She also creates faces out of buttons. The detail to the faces is incredible and they are in proportion, even though the only shapes are circles. Here are some pictures.
